Postpartum for Postmenopausal Ease

Physiology demands rest in early postpartum period; it is the foundation for postmenopausal ease.

Many postpartum traditions worldwide say months following childbirth, the mother is more open than ever.

If the mother is focused on strengthening her health, symptoms and diseases, and hormonal imbalances can improve during the postpartum period; on the contrary, if a woman chooses not to take good care of pre-existing conditions can worsen.

Extended rest periods are regular postpartum traditions in many cultures throughout the world.
~mexico/ central america “the cuarentena” 40 days of rest
~china “zuo yue zi” 30 days of rest
~somalia “afantanbah” 40 days of rest
~korea “samchilil” 21 days of rest
~india, ayurvedic tradition “sacred window” 40 days of rest

The extended resting period after childbirth is a necessity, not a luxury, to honour and nourish the physiological needs of women and to be proactive for long-term health and well-being.

The maturity process of becoming a mother is learning to create boundaries or reinforce pre-existing boundaries.

Demands of a newborn, transitioning with partner/family as dynamic changes, exploring new relationship with self will require a container to manage energy consciously, as burnout and exhaustion will occur.

~vitality is the energy that lives within us all; when we are met with resistance is when we must choose how who and when we will channel the energy~

We can shift into this mindset/way of thinking through adequate support (having a village), and mothering centring her own care.

When we honour the pain, we allow healing.
